Wednesday Journal

Ok, this is not Vogue, but we couldn't help to plan on a September Issue (and it's ad free:)

They say women (only women?) view September as the time to change and reinvent themselves. Many of us feel that we can start off being more refreshed as opposed to the actual first day of the new year.

Fun fact: "An average glossy fashion print and September issue can take from between nine months to a year to put together. And then there are parts that [you finish] three days before you ship the issue off to the printer," according to former editor-in-chief of Glamour Cindi Leive.

I hope you like today's edition packed with all kinds of inspiration, information, and resources.

Troop Zero - Movie

I found this gem on Amazon Prime one night in search of some 'light diet' content. Viola Davis stars in it; she's one of my favorites, so it was a no brainer.
It's been quite a surprise of a movie. The young leading role is 🚀 Also, we all have watched Johanna channeling Aretha Franklin, who made you smile from ear to ear; you'll recognize her immediately in the cast!

Clean - Book

' I stopped showering five years ago.' is the first sentence you are going to read by
doctor and journalist James Hamblin, who explores the science and culture of how we care for our skin today.
According to his research, a little-known ecosystem, named as the skin microbiome - the trillions of microbes that live on our skin and in our pores - is hardly never mentioned when it comes to skincare.

I am on page 60 so far and learning a bit.

Everybody knows - Movie

When Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem star in the same movie, there is not much more you need to know.
Let me just tell you this; you can always expect sincere and authentic storytelling from Spanish movies (and I know the director is Iranian).
A festive wedding mood tips over and turns into a drama until the last minute. In the end, you keep wondering how the story could continue...

WINDOW SWAP
Feeling the void of wanderlust hearts sharing the view from your window

Being stuck indoors much time, we might have spent more time than usual behind our windows looking outside. I certainly have. Seeing the sea and not being able to go for months has been surreal (and I know I'm the lucky one with that view).
People all around the world have submitted their view, it's fun to try to discover the location without having read it before.

A personal and colorful movie to watch and remember.

   LAST THOUGHTS
I'm currently working on the first comprehensive trend report since the pandemic has started, a 300 pages document so far, and ongoing.

Until now, I didn't feel there was enough information on the market for predictions.
I still very much believe in the 'we don't know everything, we're still in this' (watch my trend videos on IGTV); a thought shared yesterday also by Laurie Pressman (VP of the Color Pantone Institute) during her Colors SS2021 webinar.

But we start now having data that backs up consumer sentiment. If you're interested in bringing a lecture to your company or clients (also virtual), please let me know. I am happy to see if I can help.

So, this is September; it feels a bit like new beginnings.
I sincerely hope you are in good spirits.
Un abrazo.
